I wanted to host my first meal prep party for two reasons. The first was to spend time with friends and the second was to make all of our lives easier by putting our hands together to create healthy meals for our families.
After the first thirty-one days of 2017, I gave myself permission to take a time out. It was time for me to hit the reset button. I needed to rebalance my life and make time for things that were being neglected: my mind, body and my soul, for starters.
Friendships take on a whole new meaning when you live away from family. Friendships that are like family take on an even bigger meaning around the holidays when you don’t have family close by. This year I was going to bypass Thanksgiving and was already moving on to Christmas early November until I got a call from a wonderful friend asking if we wanted to plan a Friendsgiving.
The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas tend to be a time of weight gain, high stress, weak immunity and poor sleep. Join us for a 21 day detox that will leave you feeling better than ever come the new year.
Literally…I’m grounded in so many ways…
One thing I learned while I was studying nutrition in school was to eat seasonally. I never really payed much attention to it before. I use to pay crazy prices for berries in the dead of winter and not pay attention to where they were coming from. Now I’ve learned to eat locally and the benefits of eating the produce that is in season. The natural cycle of produce is perfectly designed to support our health.
